About Nick McClure

I was born and raised in Georgia. I began to learn American Sign Language in high school and followed that path through college to become a sign language interpreter. Shortly after I graduated with my BA in Interpreting, I moved to Florida and have been here for about 11 years where I work as a sign language interpreter.

While I have lived here, I have married my wife I met in college, gotten a MA in interpreting, and had two sons (now aged 4 and 2). I am in my 3rd year of an Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Ed.D program at the University of West Florida. My dissertation is analyzing online content and accessibility for the blind and visually impaired community.

The IDT Ed.D takes a look at problems in our environments through a lens of systems improvement by identifying a problem, analyzing the root cause, and attempt to implement interventions to improve the environment. I plan to graduate in 2023.
