If you talk with anyone who’s seen Sumner M Davenport speak at a WordPress Meetup, WordCamp, or an Accessibility Conference, you’ll hear the same phrases describing her. “Inspirational”, “Life-changing”, “Paradigm-shifting”, and “Empowering” are often thrown around.
The Patriarch or Mother Hen of a legion of advocates for accessibility and inclusiveness in the valleys north of Los Angeles, Sumner has led with style, grace, and strength. Those who have heard her message on the importance of making everything you create for the web inclusive and open to all.
Through story-telling, we’ll look back at the past five years which have resulted in the founding of an accessibility Meetup, joint Accessibility events, and culminating in WordCamp Santa Clarita 2021 offering a dedicated weekend track of nineteen (19) accessibility topics, a first for a WordCamp.
